HISTORY

The Natural Resources of Kankakee County was originally published in July, 1963. A committee of educators and scientists from Kankakee County came together to write about the natural resources found across Kankakee County, after realizing how precious and life-sustaining the resources are. The original book was dedicated to teachers and schoolchildren who play a giant role in the conservation of our natural resources. The committee members realized the key to sustaining our natural resources was through educating the youth in the county.
