Public participation at KSWCD meetings is welcome. Time will be set aside at each regularly scheduled KSWCD monthly meeting to allow for public comment. To ensure the orderly conduct of business, the Board of Directors has adopted the following rules. Failure to follow these rules may result in termination of the speaker’s comments.

• All public comment must be limited to issues pertinent to the District.

• Speaker should be courteous and professional. The presiding Director may terminate public comments that are profane, vulgar, or defamatory.

• Time for all public comment is limited to sixty (60) minutes.

• A sign-up sheet for public comment will be available. Speakers will be heard in the order in which they signed up.

• Each speaker will have a maximum of eight (8) minutes.

• Speaker should begin their comments by stating their name and connection to, or interest in the District.

• Speakers may not address confidential or personnel matters but may submit such concerns to the Board of Directors in writing.

• Persons submitting public comment should not expect an immediate response from the Board. Comments will be evaluated by the Board and responded to at a later date, if deemed appropriate.
